Born to disconnect
With Born to Disconnect, I wanted to explore a quieter form of isolation.
The figure is physically present, but mentally somewhere else — protected by sound, screens, codes and inner space.
I was thinking about younger generations growing up through digital filters, constant signals and curated realities, sometimes experiencing life more indirectly than directly.
The piece is not meant as criticism.
There is also tenderness in this distance.
The gold elements create an attractive surface, almost desirable, while the fragmented lines suggest a gradual emotional withdrawal from the outside world.
For me, this work speaks about a generation learning to protect itself by disconnecting.
