In OVERGROWTH, Julien Gilles approaches the living world through the movement of growth. Organic forms and flows of material occupy the canvas, meet and appear to shift its boundaries.
The collection opens a space between suggestions of nature and abstraction. The viewer may find a landscape, a layer or a plant-like form, before returning to the painted surface. This openness sustains the impression of a world in transformation.
